How to make your test setup more efficient when your code is not (yet) SOLID
Historically BC code was never written with testability in mind. When coding tests against this code, it leaves us with ample option than setting up a lot of data before the action under test can be exercised. Ideally you probably would like to refactor your code to comply with SOLID principles and make your automated test effort overall much simpler. But often our vast code heritage and new projects ahead do not allow us to get that prioritized and leaves us with non-SOLID code to write test automation against. * Take-away* In this workshop you will learn how your code structure determines the complexity of your test code and how this especially affects your data setup. You will learn what options you have to make your test setup more efficient and what approach fits your code structure the best. A workshop for aspiring developers who want to level-up their Microsoft Power Platform skill into the world of pro-code extensions. This workshop will show you how to use custom C#, TypeScript, and PowerShell in combination with GitHub to enhance Microsoft Power Platform. You will learn how to set up your developer workstation with VSCode & Visual Studio for developing and publishing your extensions into Power Platform and Azure using code management best practices that work along side Power Platform solutions. Extensions will cover model-driven Power App forms, Power App canvas app custom code, Power Automate custom connectors, and Copilot Studio plugins. Learning objectives: - Learn to setup up your developer machine for developing with Power Platform. - Learn to setup a code project and connect to a developer environment. - Extend a model-driven form using TypeScript. - Extend Dataverse using C# to create a plugin. - Extend a canvas apps code component using React. - Create a custom connector to extend a Power Automate Flow using an Azure hosted API. - Create a Copilot Studio plugin that connects to Azure. Our focus throughout the day will be on getting the most out of what's in the box. Join me for this full-day workshop where you will get familiar with the different design interfaces and the major components that come with Power Pages, and how to extend them to fit your requirements. We will work through a small-scale typical Power Pages project from start to finish; from planning your project, creating your site, getting styling right, pages and content, building our data model, securing your site, moving it to production, and going live.
